In the context of the new guidelines stemming from the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Museumpark Orientalis has drawn up the following statement. Through this statement, we wish to set out our privacy policy.
Preface
This privacy statement applies to the processing of personal information provided by visitors, volunteers, donors, and business relations (hereinafter: personal data), as well as data obtained from visiting and using the Museumpark Orientalis website.
What happens to your data?
Museumpark Orientalis may ask you for personal data if you enter into a relationship with us, for example as a visitor, donor, or volunteer; because you are running a campaign for us or participating in one of our campaigns; if you sign a petition or statement of support; participate in a (social media) campaign; or order a package from us.
Museumpark Orientalis may collect contact details that you provide yourself, such as (company) name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, bank details relating to transactions, donations, purchases or participation, or data that is relevant if you contact us by making a (one-time) gift, a purchase, or participating in a promotion.
We process your personal data to manage our relationship with you, to keep you informed of our activities, for marketing purposes, and to expand our database of participants, volunteers, and other stakeholders. Naturally, we need funds to carry out our work. We therefore have a legitimate interest in raising (additional) funds. We do this partly through data enrichment.
In addition to the personal data you provide to Museumpark Orientalis yourself, we may collect, record, and process data regarding your use of our websites. This includes, among other things, data about the equipment you use, the version of the operating system, and data about the use of our website, such as the time you visit the site and the pages you view. To do this, we place cookies on our websites. A cookie is a small file that is stored on your computer, tablet, or phone. With the help of a cookie, we can, for example, make using the site easier for you, test the quality of our website, show you targeted advertisements from our campaigns, or enable you to share a web page via social media. We also monitor how our newsletter is read by tracking the open and click rates.

Which personal data does Museumpark Orientalis process?
Below you will find an overview of the personal data that we may process:

We do not retain your personal data longer than necessary.
We retain your data for as long as we need it to manage the relationship with you. We retain data required to comply with legal requirements, such as those of tax legislation (7 years), for as long as required by law.
We do not use your personal data for purposes other than those described above.
Museumpark Orientalis does not sell your data to third parties and only provides it to third parties if this is necessary for the execution of our relationship with you or to comply with a legal obligation. We enter into a data processing agreement with companies that process your data on our behalf to ensure an adequate level of security and confidentiality of your data. Museumpark Orientalis remains responsible for these processing activities.
Your rights: view, modify or delete data, unsubscribe, complaint
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. If you have given consent for a specific processing of your data, you have the right to withdraw this consent. You may also object to the processing of your personal data by Museumpark Orientalis.
You can send a request for access, correction, or deletion of your personal data, or a request for withdrawal of your consent or your objection to the processing of your personal data, to info@museumparkorientalis.nl.
To ensure that the request for access was made by you, we will ask you a number of questions to verify this. If it is not possible to sufficiently verify your identity, we ask you to send a copy of your proof of identity along with the request. On this copy, please black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip of numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number, and Citizen Service Number (BSN). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but within four weeks.
You also have the option to file a complaint with the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
If you no longer wish to receive emails regarding the activities and news of Museumpark Orientalis, you can use the unsubscribe option included in every email. You can also indicate that you do not wish to receive certain information, such as our newsletter. This is called the right of objection. Please contact us for this.
Protection of your data
Museumpark Orientalis takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, and unauthorized modification. If you have the impression that your data is not properly secured or if there are indications of misuse, please contact us.

We reserve the right to amend this privacy statement. The latest version of our privacy statement can always be found on our website.
