How did the project get started?
Last Monday, December 15, we opened the exhibition 'Light Through the Lens'. In the presence of over 80 residents from the Netherlands and the border region, the fifty selected photographs were unveiled on large A0 plates at Museumpark Orientalis. It was an evening full of encounters and wonderful conversations.

Artworks
In the first round, we invited you to photograph your region. You were challenged to capture people and recognizable places in the border region between Germany and the Netherlands. We received 400 photos! Fifty were selected from all the submissions and are exhibited at Museumpark Orientalis. During the same period, beautiful A3 collages were created by the photographers, students, newcomers, and other interested individuals. They worked on the collages together under the guidance of the artists. But we are not finished yet… Read on to find out how you can still participate!
Idea and leadership: Masoud Rahaee with Bassam Alkhouri and Nicole Peters
The project is based on the idea of ElanArt's artistic director, Masoud Rahaee. Conceptual thinking is Rahaee's specialty, and inspiring and enthusing people is his mission. This is therefore central to 'Licht door de Lens'. On the German side, Bassam Alkhouri and Nicole Peters are once again part of the artistic team.

Light Through the Lens is an initiative of Museumpark Orientalis and artistic director Masoud Rahaee in collaboration with HAN Applied Sciences. Furthermore, artists Bassam Alkhouri and Nicole Peters are part of the artistic team. The project is realized in collaboration with Museumpark Orientalis, HAN Applied Sciences, Haus Mifgash, Lindenberg Cultuurhuis Nijmegen, Wasserburg Rindern, and the AStA of the Hochschule Rhein-Waal.
